“In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

  • Of what do they ask one another?
  • About the great event,
  • About which they differ.
  • No, they will come to know!
  • No, they will come to know!
  • Have We not made the earth as a bed,
  • And the mountains as pegs?
  • And created you in pairs,
  • And made your sleep for rest,
  • And made the night as a covering,
  • And made the day for livelihood?
  • And built above you seven strong (heavens),
  • And placed a burning lamp (sun)?
  • And sent down from the rain-clouds water poured forth in abundance,
  • That We may produce therewith corn and vegetations,
  • And gardens of thick growth.
  • Verily, the Day of Decision is a fixed term,
  • The day when the trumpet will be blown, and you shall come forth in crowds,
  • And the heaven shall be opened and become gates,
  • And the mountains shall be moved and become a mirage.
  • Verily, hell is a place of ambush,
  • For the transgressors a place of destination:
  • They will dwell therein for ages.
  • Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink,
  • Save boiling water and dirty wound discharges.
  • An equivalent portion (of punishment) of what they had earned.
  • And they find no protector or helper.
  • On the Day when the Hour will be established, the guilty will be struck dumb with despair.
  • No intercession shall be accepted from them, nor any compensation be taken from them.
  • They shall receive an eternal punishment.
  • But those who believe and do righteous deeds, they shall have gardens beneath which rivers flow, as a reward from Allah, and Allah’s reward is the best of rewards.
  • Truly, the creation of you all and the resurrection of you all are just like that of a single soul. Verily, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing.
  • Do you not see that Allah sends down water from the sky, and then the earth becomes green? Verily, Allah is All-Subtle, All-Aware.
  • To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth. And Allah is sufficient as a Guardian.
  • He causes the night to enter into the day, and He causes the day to enter into the night. And He has made the sun and the moon subservient, each running its course for a term appointed. Such is Allah, your Lord; His is the kingdom. And those whom you call upon besides Him have not the least power.
  • If you call them to guidance, they will not follow you. It is the same for you whether you call them or you keep silent.
  • Verily, those whom you call upon besides Allah are servants like unto you. So call upon them, and let them answer you if you are truthful.
  • Have they feet with which they walk? Or have they hands with which they hold? Or have they eyes with which they see? Or have they ears with which they hear? Say: “Call upon your ‘partners’, and then plot against me and give me no respite.
  • Verily, my Lord is Allah, Who has
